Indemnity Plan

An indemnity plan refers to a dental plan in which a third party payer provides the payment of certain amount for specific services in spite of the actual charges made by the provider. The payment is paid either to enrollees or to the dentists. Some of the examples of indemnity plans are schedule of allowances, table of allowances or customary and reasonable plans.

Indemnity plan is the most popular plan and generally preferred by both employees and employers. This is because the insured can visit any dentist in his nation. So approaching his family dentists is made possible. It offers unlimited freedom in choosing the health provider. It reimburses the healthcare provider.

Apart from the insured, their dependents in multiple locations can also have access to dental care. The indemnity plan is the most preferred plan among dentists. It is the most flexible dental plan. Indemnity plan is also called as free for service plan.
