Preferred provider organization
Preferred Provider organization (PPO) refers to an arrangement in which a third party payer enters into a contract with a group of dental care providers. They offer dental services at nominal rates which is lower than their usually fees. They get instant payment and more patients in return. This program allows the insured to choose any dentist from the PPO network. It provides financial incentives for choosing dentists from PPO network. This network will generally include dentists , dental hospitals and other providers those who provide dental services at competitive prices. A PPO is somewhat similar to HMO. But in PPO, the fee is paid after getting the dental care whereas in the former the scheduled fee is paid in advance. At times, PPOs also allow its policy holders to dental visits to out-of-network professionals . But the payment is high. There will only be deductible for out-of-network expenses.
