American Dental Association

The American Dental Association refers to a group that works for the promotion of oral healthcare and dentistry. This group was formed in the year 1859 and presently grown into a big group with 1, 52, 000 members. This association is based in Chicago and is considered as the world's largest and oldest association for promoting dental health. It educates people about various aspects of dental health through its monthly journal called Journal of the American Dental Association.

ADA has more than 400 employees at its headquarters in Chicago and its office in Washington D.C. The ADA acknowledges nine areas of dentistry. They are dental public health, endodontics, oral and maxillofacial pathology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, dentofacial orthopedics , periodontics ,oral and maxillofacial radiology and prosthodontics.

The ADA library is one of the libraries with rare and wide -ranging collections of dental books. It has more than thirty three thousand books and seventeen thousand five hundred journals.
